Runner-Up in the inagural event of the AJGA Butterfield Bermuda Championship

It's pretty difficult to practice in conditions that are totally different than the actual tournament conditions.  The only good weather we had was during the practice rounds.  This course is hard enough without the ridiculous wind and rain, because the elevation changes are huge.  I've played in 30 mph, gusting to 40 mph winds before when I was the Low Amateur Medalist at a US Women's Open Qualifier, but this was way worse and constant between 45-50 mph.

I had been working extra hard on various knockdown shots because I knew the wind would be an issue.   I practiced hitting the same club to three different distances with different trajectories.  However, I was definitely not prepared to try and remain upright while putting.  During the final round I kept wondering if they were going to cancel it, but I was glad they didn't because I knew the flighted shots were going to pay off.  I was T4 after R1, slipped to T8 after R2, and very proud of my final round rise to Runner-Up.

After the tournament, I told my Dad if they had cancelled the final round, I would have gone back out there to finish where I left off.  Where else would I get the opportunity to practice in a near hurricane?
